Bring Council Together
I'll communicate with council members early, share information, listen to their ideas, and work to build consensus before important issues reach the dais. I won't control them, set their agendas, or embarrass them. I'll empower them.
A mayor is one vote. The job is to build agreement, not to win arguments in public.
That means talking with council members early, sharing the same information with all of them, and hearing their ideas before an issue reaches the dais rather than after positions have hardened.
I won't control council members, set their agendas for them, or embarrass anyone from the chair. Each of them was elected by residents too, and my job is to help them do the work they were sent to do.
What that means in practice

- Never use the chair to control or embarrass a colleague
