Strengthen Public Safety
I'll focus on prevention and protection across our roads, pathways, beaches, parks, neighborhoods, and business districts while strengthening our partnership with BCSO. I'll begin a process to examine if we should consider increasing public safety measures locally.
Public safety on Hilton Head is not only about crime. It is about our roads and pathways, our beaches and parks, our neighborhoods and business districts, and whether people feel secure in all of them.
Our partnership with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office matters and I intend to strengthen it, with honest conversation about what coverage the island actually needs at the times it needs it.
I'll also start an open, deliberate process to examine whether we should increase public safety measures locally. That is a serious question with real cost implications, and it deserves facts and public input rather than a snap decision.
What that means in practice
