A lifetime of service

Dave's story is one of service: to country, to organizations, and more importantly to people. It started in the United States Air Force, where he learned that leadership isn't a title. It's a discipline. It's showing up for the people who count on you, especially when it's hard.

From the Air Force, Dave moved into corporate leadership, including a career with HSBC. Dave then started his own international leadership development company where he coached executives through some of the most complex challenges in business, leadership, and life. Dave currently serves as the Director of Leadership Development at Beaufort Memorial. Dave's life and service have equipped him to lead at any level, including town government.

Rooted in Hilton Head

Dave has called Hilton Head Island home for more than 10 years. What began as love for this place, its people, its natural beauty, its unique character, has grown into a determination to preserve what's left to preserve, change the course of growth for the town, and lead the town's residents in taking back their island. Dave sees a community that has too often felt unheard by its own government, and he believes it's time to change that.

His approach is simple: listen first, lead second. With integrity, honesty, and accountability as guiding principles, Dave is committed to thoughtful and informed leadership that reflects the values of our community.

Faith and family

A Christian man who shares his faith with others daily, Dave draws his strength from his faith. He believes public service is exactly that, service, and that the people of Hilton Head deserve a Mayor who honors people and the role that way.
